State Bank’s Janesville office held a “Cookin’ for a Cause” event on Friday, July 15th to support Janesville Fire & Rescue.  Bank staff served hamburgers and hot dogs to approximately 190 people raising $1,000, plus the Bank’s match for a total contribution of $1,500 toward Janesville Fire & Rescue.

“On behalf of Janesville Fire & Rescue, we would like to thank State Bank [and the employees] for choosing us for their Cookin’ for a Cause event. It was a great success!  We would also like to thank everyone in the community and surrounding area for supporting us,” said Heath Humpal, Janesville Fire & Rescue.

To date, the total amount contributed as a result from State Bank’s “Cookin’ for a Cause” (CFAC) event series is nearly $30,000 to sixteen local charities across each of the markets served by the bank.  Along with Janesville Fire & Rescue, State Bank’s CFAC events have helped to raise funds for The Smile Big Project and the Janesville Veterans Memorial.

“Here at State Bank we’re built on a foundation of giving back to the communities that have helped us achieve success,” said Melissa Fleshner, Senior Customer Service Representative at State Bank.  “But we know this event series has been a community effort and we truly appreciate the generosity we see from local supporters!  We're proud to support Janesville Fire & Rescue because of the integral role they play in protecting our community.”
